Identity & Self-Knowledge

Above & Below

“If you answered a hundred small questions honestly, what shape would your mind turn out to be?”

▶ Play now

A descent through ten regions of the mind — Surface, Memory, Instinct, Logic, Emotion, Values, Fear, Desire, the Mirror Maze, and the Summit — each holding ten one-screen mini-games. Every chamber poses one small task or choice with, truly, no wrong answer. Behind the scenes it's quietly reading eight facets of how you think: how you decide, how you meet the unknown, where your compass points, the speed of your inner clock.

Answer the hundredth chamber and the grid dissolves into a fingerprint — a mandala of your particular mind, an archetype, an equilibrium score, and a short code you can hand to anyone. Give a friend your code and the two of you appear side by side, two minds overlaid, with a number for how much you rhyme.

It's a self-portrait you play rather than paint. There is no wrong way to be a mind.

Controls

  • Tap or click — every chamber is pointer/touch-driven
  • Skip a chamber to answer later; your journey saves on this device
  • Enter a friend's code to compare two minds

Your progress

Your journey saves automatically on this device (via the arcade's save bridge) — leave and return whenever you like. Beginning again washes the chambers clean.

Accessibility

Navigation buttons are focusable and operable by keyboard; the individual chamber mini-games are pointer/touch-driven (tap, drag, press-and-hold) and are not all keyboard-operable. No sound. Honors prefers-reduced-motion (backdrop and transitions stilled).
